7:10 – 7:20 Neighborhood Officer Report – Officer Greg (Officer Stowe out with injury)
Questions about recent neighborhood scammer asking for money. No crime being
committed so it should be reported online. It likely won’t get immediate police response
since there is no crime.
Zach asking about what to do with suspicious looking guys scoping out houses. Officer
said to feel free to report but if no crime is being committed it will likely not get immediate
response. You can also ask for extra patrol to cruise certain streets.
7:20 – 7:35 Presentation from SEUL Intern (Owen) about Wikman Arleta Building Project
Bringing awareness to building project – need to raise $3000 and so far have about
$1700 from other neighborhood associations and Foster business alliance as well as
through individual donations.
Looking to see if CKNA can offer some funding to the restoration project.
Allison will send out packet to board when she receives it from Owen and it will be on
next month’s agenda for discussion/vote by board.
We need budget info from Andrew.
7:35 – 7:48 Presentation from Torria Lee & John from Kailash Ecovillage
37th and Cora project to do street/intersection ‘repair’ which is really a street mural. Need
80% buy in from neighbors within a 2 block radius. Really looking for moral support from
CKNA at this time.
7:48 – 7:50 Crime Prevention Report
Reminder to send people to services, don’t give them cash. Jacob will forward some
contact info.
This will also be posted on our website.
7:48 – 8:05 Presentation from the SE Portland Food Project (Darcelle Warren)
Spin-off on food bank program.
Richard is founder and started in Medford > he is overarching coordinator.
Bi-monthly pick up from neighborhood coordinator.
SE Community Church accepts all food and then distributes to neighbors…anyone who
shows up, no questions asked.
Looking for donors/coordinators.
Rev. Jewel is wondering if CKNA donations can be for CKNA neighbors? He will followup
