If you have leads about neighborhood events you think we should know about, or have ideas on how you'd like to get more involved, you can email me at ckna.chair@gmail.com

Elizabeth Durham McPherson (they/them)

Board Chair

I grew up near 45th and Division, and spent my childhood playing in Creston Park and taking violin lessons at the Community Music Center. My wife and I have lived in Creston-Kenilworth since 2009, first as renters and now as homeowners.

In addition to serving on the neighborhood association board I am also involved with the Grout PTA. I believe in neighbors helping neighbors, and building strong inclusive communities from the ground up.

Rachel Davies (she/her)

Outreach and Communications Chair

I moved to Creston-Kenilworth in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the quiet, laid-back friendliness of the neighborhood.

I have a B.A. in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Oberlin College in Ohio, and an M.S. in Biology from Arizona State University.

I have been interested in sustainable living and community resilience for most of my life. Upon my retirement, I was able to relocate from Minnesota and join an eco-village here in Creston-Kenilworth.  I spend much of my time tending to both my individual garden and our community gardens.  As a renter and a cyclist,  I am a proponent of affordable housing, and walk-able, bike-friendly neighborhoods.

I am an active member of Portland's Neighborhood Emergency Team, and am currently Co-Leader of the Creston-Kenilworth Team.  I am also the Chairperson of CKNA's Community Preparedness and Resilience Committee.

After 20 years of visiting Portland and wanting to move here, I succeeded and landed in Creston-Kenilworth in 2017 after retiring from a 30+ year in academia (Cornell, Tulane and University of North Carolina Charlotte as well the National Science Foundation). I’ve served on the Hollywood Farmers Market Board, and am currently on the Portland Actor’s Conservatory Board. I’m deeply desirous of and committed to creating, strengthening and being part of a community, and in Portland, a real way to do that is to join and participate in one’s neighborhood association. After attending meetings for 3 years, I’m happy to say that I’m a new board member of the Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood Association.

I have a B.A .in Sociology from State University of New York College at New Paltz and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Sociology with a minor in Political Economy from Indiana University-Bloomington.
